Summary
Draco hated Ministry galas—especially ones held in his honour. In the years following the war, Draco had naively believed that he could numb his misery by donating to just causes. But even after charitably dividing all profits from the selling of the Manor, he still waged against the demons battling inside his head.
There was only one person who was able to placate the suffocating memories that often threatened to swallow him whole. One person who made him feel like he was more than his erroneous past. But of course, she wasn’t with him tonight. At least, not in the way that mattered.
