When Colin and Eloise find out they are faced with all the pain that their friend never told them. Also Colin can't understand why it feels like he might die if he's forced to stay in a world without his Pen.

He was twelve when he first saw it in a dream.
He remembers asking his mother to take him to a paint shop the next day, desperate to find the right shade. In his dream, he had floated in it, this colour; had let it pour over him and wash into every pore on his skin until he was saturated with it, and God, Colin felt right for the first time in his life. He was desperate for it, then – desperate to paint his room that colour, or buy linens in that particular shade – anything so he could feel the gentle rock and warmth of love that he had felt in his dream.
“And what colour is it?” his mother had asked patiently.
“Blue,” Colin had replied. “But not an ordinary blue. I’ve never seen this blue before.”

He has the features for it, cheeks begging for blush and those full lips. Long, fluttering lashes.
“Wh-what?” she stutters, the intoxication of having him this close making her lose it, just a little.
“Since Marina, I can’t… I can’t. You know. Finish.”
Penelope blinks at him. “Um. Okay.” She doesn’t know what to say.
“I kind of have this pretty specific thing I need to happen for me to, you know.” God, he’s still speaking. Colin Bridgerton is talking to her about his orgasm. The negronis are suddenly making themselves known in her limbs and chest. She feels woozy. Are they really talking about this? “And usually I have a way I manage it, but since Marina it’s just not working.” He bites his lip and for the first time since he leaned over the bar, his eyes flicker to hers nervously. “It’s actually making me go a tiny bit insane, I think.”

Summary
