Izuku has always had a problem with overthinking things. It was why he always has at least a dozen backup plans for his backup plan, just in case. It is also the reason that he now has two bookshelves full of analysis notebooks (thankfully encoded after an intense class courtesy of Nedzu). He's been working on curbing his habit, but sometimes it flares back to life at inconvenient times.
So when Eraserhead and Present Mic start showing up every time he turns around, his brain starts trying to assign meaning to every little thing they do. But if they keep declaring they want to spend time with him, keep bringing him treats and listening to him ramble, he might start believing that they are flirting with him after all.
