Uzui had lived most of his adult life as a breeder, which meant he was treated a bit better than other demons. He got fed regularly and didn't get beat as much. What he was most grateful for were the three demons he got paired with, Makio, Suma, and Hinatsaru. He called them his wives. They were paired together almost exclusively and he looked out for them.
He loved them more than anything, he would do whatever he could to protect them. But he was a fool. No matter what he wanted, no matter how strong he was, his sweet promises to protect them meant nothing. He didn't have the power to do anything more than take a beating in their place and hold them close when he couldn’t.

Alfred Pennyworth wouldn’t have ended up in this situation under normal circumstances. Catboys and catgirls, the newly created Felis Sapiens, were just another rich people’s designer pet. It was just a coincidence that one got gifted to Martha and Thomas Wayne shortly before their deaths.
He didn’t have to keep the catboy. It wasn’t a condition of the will but...But Alfred hadn’t been able to save them. It felt too cruel to deny the kittenboy whatever he wanted.

This is a story of two damaged people learning how to make each other whole again.
