Summary
And then Myka loses track of Helena for a second, less than a second, and the woman is gone. Myka looks around herself – they’re in the Hollywood sector. Myka immediately thinks of all the Wizard of Oz artifacts; wonders which of them Helena might have discovered to make the dreams she dared to dream really come true. Her brain presents her with a map of the sector and the shortest route to check them all. Then Myka hears the shrill whistle of a tea kettle – or Coffee Pot – and starts to run in that direction immediately, map and route forgotten.
She rounds a corner and stops short – Helena is prone on the floor, Coffee Pot rolled out of her ungloved hand, hair spread out around her head like a halo, knees pointing to the right like the fast-forward on a stereo. There’s no ferret in sight but what there is, is a child sitting next to Helena, shaking her shoulder. Myka’s breath stops as surely as her feet did a moment ago.
The child looks over her shoulder, eyes frantic, and says, “Mummy will not wake up,” and Myka regains control of her diaphragm and her legs and moves towards the girl at a pace somewhere between a rush and an ‘I don’t want to startle you’ approach.

When Myka Bering goes looking for Helena Wells, she isn’t expecting to find Emily Lake, and she definitely isn’t expecting to find Emily Lake pregnant – but this is a story about the unexpected. This is a story about letting yourself say yes to the situation you find yourself in, even if it’s where you never expected to be, and how the rest falls into place when you allow yourself to do that.
It’s also a story about time travel and friendship, old flames and new love, and magic cottages and pb&p (pear) sandwiches. And of not just one unexpected baby, but two of them - for a given value of "baby", anyway.
Written for the Bering and Wells Big Bang 2023 to celebrate 13 years of Bering and Wells!

This started out as a one-shot about my take on one way Lost Girl Season 5 could introduce the rumored Charisma Carpenter's character, Freyja, into the show in a very pro-Doccubus manner. After posting it on another site, I received requests to extend it, so with a little thought, I did just that. It's now a multi-chapter fic that will follow our favorite LG ladies as they discover details about the "cherished gift" and a little adventure it takes them on.

This was the first fan fic I ever wrote and it kick started a ton of other writerly things. I'm reposting this at the request of a great writer and good friend who needs to hurry up and finish her fanfic so that I can finally go to sleep at night without wondering, "what happened to that story?"
I re-post this little chestnut with the original notes that came with it back in 2014. The summary? Oh yes, Lauren has had it and skedaddles with Kenzi in the hope of putting as much distance as she can between her, the Una Mens, and Bo. But can she really?I can't promise that this will stay up on this site for long. Enjoy it while you can!
