Jayce had been confused the first time the Machine Herald waved at him with the Hexclaw, a stark difference from the punches he had been throwing Jayce's way. He asked the next time, the Herald explaining the Hexclaw was a part of him yes...but also had a little bit of a mind of its own. Then it all made sense.
