“You’re coming with us?”
“I want to make sure you get there.”
Grian studied him for a moment, then asked the question that had been weighing on Mumbo’s mind the entire day. “What will you do after?”
Mumbo hesitated, then shook his head slowly. “I don’t know. Maybe head home, if there’s anything left of it. Or just… figure out what freedom feels like.” He paused, his voice barely a whisper. “If there is such a thing anymore.”
Or, Mumbo escapes captivity with two hybrids, and fights to keep them safe by finding the Hermits.

The Hybrid Freedom Acts left the country torn into two. The South is where you want to be if you were a hybrid. If you were unlucky enough to be in the North? North hybrids are bought and sold as often as your daily necessities, caught up in a neverending nightmare of horrors. Keep your head down, the chained hybrids whisper, or you'll end up in the end-of-the-line Warehouse "Center Zero".
Center Zero Hybrids like the blazeborn Tango knows Hope is a stupid concept made for those who have no physical faith to turn to. In a world where his existence is threatened everyday, the only thing he can fully believe in is his own capabilities of staying alive.
but he is not our protagonist. Enter Jimmy, who goes to Center Zero on purpose because that's his job.

a civil war between the North and South on whether Hybrids have rights or are slaves. the Bad Boys work for an organization whos job is rescuing hybrids from North trafficking through infiltration and spy networks. Jimmy makes his way through the Hybrid Market with a goal. its safe to say Tango and the other Hermits in Center Zero are very very befuddled
