Summary
The Angel always knew that this day would come. Banishment has always been an inevitability, so there is no reason to feel bad about it happening now. After a harrowing battle against the Knight, the Angel realizes that they are unwanted within this story. They have already been taught many times that at some point, it is time to let go of a world. This is how it must be. If Kris does not want them, then it must be time. After all, if their vessel does not want them, isn't the only winning move not to play?
With the Angel disconnected, Kris and Susie descend into a Dark World without knowing what fate has just befallen the world. The light that shines the way is gone, and not a single person knows why. The world moves on anyway while Kris, Susie, and Ralsei are all caught in the aftermath of the Angel's swift decision. Even with the light no longer shining brightly, maybe something can be salvaged from the dark.

This fic is peak. It really delves into the relationship of the player and Undertale. It’s a 10 year old game, the player wasn’t some evil mastermind on their first playthrough. This depicted them as the baby they were around that time. And it also shows Susie being pissed at Flowey for telling the player to leave despite everything.
AND EVEN WHEN THE PLAYER TRIES TO SHOW HER THEIR GENOCIDES, SHE JUST DENIES. SHE DONT CARE AND KNOWS THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO MAKE HER HATE THEM.

With the Sanctuary Incident behind them and (for the most part) things finally at peace, the Emilia Camp finds itself drawn to more mundane activities than witchbeast slaying and nearly dying. Personally, Subaru doesn't get why baseball is the one idea of his they've all decided on, especially since none of them know what it even is yet, but he's not one to pass up an opportunity.
Or, the Emilia Camp plays baseball, and the ensuing chaos.

Summary
Algebra in general had only been a relatively recent invention. Sure, way back then, people were unfathomably smart. But anything more complex than arithmetic was reserved solely for specialists and intellectuals of the era.
So then, why wouldn't that be the case in Re:Zero?
Historically, "math" and "tedium" often gone hand in hand, given the lack of modern symbolic representation. In fact, negative numbers were only a thing in 200 BCE - roughly 2800 years after records of earliest civilization.
In unrelated news, Subaru asks Anastasia for a math lesson.
