He follows Kate into the kitchen, where she hands him a glass of water and stays standing next to him, follows her to her room where she opens the door and beckons him inside with a look. When he cups her face in his hands and she nods and he leans in to kiss her, life finally makes sense again. This he knows how to do. This he can understand.

Summary
It starts in Italy.
It’s early September and the holiday had initially been proposed to be a sort of retreat, painting together, going to the museums of Florence to learn and gather inspiration. They do paint occasionally, but mainly they lounge around the villa’s little pool, drinking red wine and spritz, planning their days around where they should go for dinner.
It’s wonderful, and Kate can feel the tension of the last months, the job search, the decisions she had to make, easing off her. So when Benedict tells the group that his brother is going to drop by for a bit, she barely takes notice of it.
(Kate and Anthony have a holiday fling before she moves to Berlin. It's not the last she sees of him.)
