Summary
Shiro was gone and there seemed to be nothing that Keith could do about it. At first, when they had all raced into the cockpit of the black lion, he had been so sure that Shiro's disappearance somehow involved a trick. That he had vanished for the slightest of moments and would reappear the very next second.
Keith had stood there numbly at first, just staring at the chair as the team began to shuffle uncomfortably around him. The truth that Shiro was truly gone had begun to set in.
He remembered Coran leaving first, with Pidge on his tail, planning to run tests on the castle and lions in the hopes of finding some sort of technical error that would explain what exactly went wrong. Then it was Allura leaving, with a kind hand on Keith's shoulder and words about how she was going to research the properties of the Black Lion in her father's papers.
Just Hunk and Lance had remained, witnessing the numbing emptiness surrounding Keith give way as he began to claw at his throat wishing that he could just breathe.~or alternatively~
4 times Keith struggled with Shiro's disappearance + 1 time he reflected, learnt, and came into his own

Lance is a lot to handle, he’s well aware of that fact. He’s loud and talkative, always having something to say in any situation. He talks to the team when they have breakfast. He talks with them on the way to training. He talks during training. He talks during their breaks. He talks until he’s close to passing out late in the evening. Anything to avoid the crushing quiet that lurked around the edges of all conversation.

Summary
Rain brought people joy, but it also brought sadness. Lance liked water, everyone knew that. His family knew it, all of team Voltron knew it, even the Balmarans probably knew it. Keith liked the rain too. Not the soft sounds that Lance seemed to yearn for, but rather the loud and roaring storms. Shiro felt indifferent, Allura a tad unsure, Coran sad. Rain to Hunk meant having special family time indoors, and to Pidge one her first memories was being at the beach with her family, several days before there was to be a big storm.

Summary
Merlin has magic,” Uther’s words hit Merlin like a ton of bricks, the spirit disappearing as if it was never there.
Merlin closes his eyes, letting out the breath he’s been holding. He feels his back hit the door behind him, holding himself up against it. He doesn’t look at Arthur, just waits.
One breath, two breath, three breath. Nothing.
Merlin opens his eyes, looking up, half expecting Arthur to have disappeared to alert the guards. Arthur is staring at him, he is stock skill, breath coming out ragged and uneven. He looks crushed and not just from expelling his father’s spirit but that must also have contributed to it.
“Arthur,” Merlin tries, swallowing when his voice shakes with the anticipation of Arthur’s reaction.
“Is it true?” Arthur asks, his voice quiet but stern, he still holds the horn tightly in his grip by his side, his knuckles white with the force.
“Arthur I-“
“Yes or no, Merlin,” Arthur interrupts, voice suddenly louder in the empty corridor, he looks Merlin in the eye while he nods wordlessly before looking away, “you-you do. You would betray me? You?”
