    Fuma’s team is chasing the playoffs but the distance is starting to wear on Nicholas. The missed calls, the late-night calls, the cold side of the bed, it’s all piling up. He’s never gone to one of Fuma’s games - part superstition, part self-preservation. But with the distance stretching too far and his need growing unbearable, he breaks his own rule and shows up.

    After the team’s win, Nicholas tries to give him a reward, but as far Fuma’s concerned, Nicholas is the one who deserves to be taken care of tonight. And Fuma’s always been good at making the most of his wins.

    “Do you see that, Taki?” Harua whispered conspiratorially.

    Taki followed his gaze, nonplussed, to where Yudai and Fuma were talking. His mama seemed to be having a good time, laughing at some joke the other man had made.

    “My papa… and your mama…” Harua said meaningfully, eyes wide, but Taki still didn’t understand what he was trying to say.

    “Yeah,” Taki said, clueless. “They seem to be friends.”

    Harua sighed, annoyed, before shaking his head. “But what if they can be more than friends?” he asked in a whisper so low Taki barely heard him. “They could get married! And we…” Harua grinned. “We would become brothers.”

    Taki’s eyes lit up. He’d never had a brother before, and being brothers with Harua would be so cool. “We’d be like twins,” he said gleefully. “Y’know, ‘cause our birthdays are so close?”

    Harua nodded, his smile full of mischief. “But for that…” he said, turning towards their parents again. “We need to make them fall in love.”
