Summary
First it feels like Shigaraki’s fading with every disembodied shriek, every painful writhe and contortion; then Toga feels so utterly hollowed out with anger and pain; now he had come to realize this plan of Dabi’s to exact revenge on his father was just a pretty way of saying he’s committing suicide. Spinner knew that in the back of his mind, but maybe something in him — something selfish and entitled made him believe Dabi wouldn’t take the leap because of the people who loved him — because he loved him.
But Shuichi of all people should know that using hearts as ransom was selfish. Everytime he cut himself open, put a knife to his neck, or poised himself on the rails of a bridge, he didn’t think about the people who loved him, his family or his sad excuse for friends. All he could think about were the names he was called, the wounds he bore, the life he wasted, the life he hated . He hated the scales, the snout, the teeth and tongue attached to his face, he hated his body that could never be soft, and he hated his body that could never be tall.
OR, the day before their battle, Spinner tries to talk with Dabi.

It had been years since Shuichi had seen Dabi. Seen any of the League, really, but it felt so much crueller to be kept away from somebody he knew was only a few floors and hallways away from him. At least Atsuhiro had the decency to be in prison somewhere. With his book finished and published though, he was finally being let out of the hospital. Into a cell somewhere else, sure, but he'd take it over the constant monitoring he'd had since getting here, turned into not just a freak of nature but a freak of science too. It took a lot of begging, but he'd finally managed to convince them to let him in to see his old teammate one last time.
