It was like a bar set against the furthest wall, surrounded by hanging plants and covered in jars. When he returned, he was holding the stem of something. The small pine shook in his grasp, and his voice was quick. “We’ve needed more, uh, of— of this!”
Craig took the herb gently from the man’s hand, and though his mind called to inspect it, he couldn’t look away from the ocean of the botanist’s eyes.
He’d take any excuse to come back, Craig realized slowly, as his mouth sounded out: “Sure thing.”

Summary
To escape the devastating effects of famine, Craig and Tricia stumble into the village of South Park. This particular village has its own very rigid set of values and rules, where ‘family and work’ always come first, and completely disregards individuality and personal freedoms. Tweek is one of the residents who agrees to take the siblings into his home, where he falls in love with one and becomes betrothed to the other.
As for Kyle, he has been living a secret life in South Park, by having a love affair with a married woman, and quietly finding a way to escape the oppressive village before his life becomes endangered.
