‘Do you like Halloween?’ asked Hyeok as they walked to the car park.
‘It’s my favourite day of the year,’ said Minho honestly, turning his face up into the chill air.
‘Not Christmas?’
‘No. I love scary things: films, stories, rides. What about you?’ It had been some of the best times of his life: laughing and running through cobwebbed corridors, surprising the monsters hiding in dark corners before they could jump out and try to frighten people away.
‘I think it’s a stupid tradition, to be honest.’ Hyeok shrugged as he took out his keys from his pocket. ‘What’s fun about costumes?’
‘Oh, I don’t know,’ said Minho lightly, smiling, ‘you never know who’s the real monster on Halloween when we all dress up like one, right?’
