“The Uchiha clan’s deep respect for tradition and ancestry was well known amongst all subjects of the Land of Fire. Since long before the creation of Konoha, the Uchihas cemented their proud and idealistic nature, by choosing to proudly display their clan’s emblem on the back of their silk kimonos, when waging and engaging in battles. Instead of wearing a bulky metal armour to protect themselves, the clan opted instead to proudly display their heritage and ancestry. The Uchiha emblem, the paper fan, represents the essence of the clan as a collective, as well as the dangerous and all encompassing fire burning within every single of the emblem bearers. The aforementioned belief in “ancestral sanctity” is ingrained in every single Uchiha, with the duties passed from progenitors to descendants being absolute. Risking one’s life in battle is done to protect the living and the dead alike, with the emblem on the back signalling the sacred practice of ancestral worship.”
Whilst bedridden in the hospital, Naruto reads a mysterious book about the Uchiha clan gifted to him by the Hokage in hopes to salvage and strengthen one of his most precious bonds.
