Without warning, a tight, iron grip clamped around his neck, yanking him violently back from the edge. His breath caught in his throat, choking as he clawed desperately at the hand, but it didn’t loosen, only tightened. A cold, mechanical voice purred in his ear, laced with a lightness, an innocence, that felt so out of place.

"Tomorrow." Shadow cut him off with a grumble, throwing an arm over his face as he exhaled through his nose. "You'll do a test tomorrow.”
"...Fine." Sonic groaned, knowing Shadow was right.
