It's a long story but here's the quick and dirty version: they have to convince pretty much the whole-ass Kamurocho criminal underworld they're in love and other than two very specific people nobody, absolutely fucking nobody, can know it’s just a bit till the job is done.
You want the long version, including the part where this whole dumb stunt was Majima’s idea? Kiryu kind of insists that it be made real nice and clear that this was, in fact, Majima’s stupid idea and he just went along with it because he didn’t know what the hell else to try. Which, y’know. Fair enough.
[In which Majima and Kiryu pretend to be a Thing for family business reasons. With these two, this is easier said than done.]

OOF I am a sucker for a pretend relationship fic and had no idea how it would work ina Kiryu/Majima setting but BOY HOWDY this sure does pull it off. Juuuust the right amount of slow burn, so nicely characterized, and also way more Yakuza-infighting-drama-plot than I was expecting or deserved. Such a good time ♥️
