    The first time Peter Parker meets (some of) the Avengers, it's in a sewer and/or warehouse-he wasn't able to get a good look at the place, sue him for his uncertainty-after he had (apparently) gotten kidnapped.

    The first time the Avengers meet Spider-Man, he's calling them jerkwads from the top of Hawkeye's roof... according to Hawkeye. In Peter's humble opinion, rooftops are communical property among vigilantes, especially during alien invasions.

    OR

    Seven times the Avengers were confused about Spider-Man's identity, and one time his identity was revealed.

    (A story told over the course of seventeen years, seven different world-ending catastrophes, and a kidnapping.)

    After the world forgot him, Peter kept fighting. He was Spider-Man after all. But as the villains get worse and the heroes dwindle, Peter finally grows tired. Hasn't he done his time? He's never once shirked the responsibility forced upon him. Never once has he put himself first.

    Eventually, the straw breaks the camel's back. Peter finally hangs up the cape.

    Unfortunately the universe seems to disagree. When Peter wakes up in Gotham he knows he should probably find a way home. But what's the point? Normal people don't find their way home across the multiverse, and Peter is normal now. He refuses to be anything else.

    So why do unfamiliar heroes keep ending up on his doorstep? And can he really turn them away?

    After the events in Washington DC, Steve Rogers feels like he knows the Winter Soldier from somewhere, but since the man's mask never comes off he can't know the man’s real identity.
    Six months later a man with long brown hair, blue eyes, and dressed in many layers to conceal his identity starts coming to the VA for the PTSD group meetings. Sam Wilson befriends the man, who goes by the name James. Despite his refusal to reveal much about himself, Sam can't help but be drawn to him. But James past will catch up to him and Sam will learn things he never wanted to know as he chooses between what he thinks is right and the man he has fallen in love with.

    Before the avengers initiative, but after they started putting unknown substances into random foot soldiers (looking at you, rogers), there was a rag-tag group of people who worked together to protect this world from an enemy that no one truely understood — still don’t, and they probably never will. They managed to strike the final blow, in an epic battle that cost them much, but the consequences of vanquishing this final enemy reached far more than any of them could have predicted.
    Stuck being unable to age, and with powers they are only just beginning to control, the group who have fought together decide that they now have the power to do something about all the danger in the world. And so they move to New York, where they stay with the blessing of the Department of Energy, and become the first Vigilantes in history. They call themselves the Unlucky Thirteen by night, but you will know them as The Party.
    They’ve been around for a while. It’s about time they met some other heroes.
