Summary
Jazz had never expected for one of his cousins and bonded to pass away one cold evening, leaving behind a pair of splitspark twins. He knew of them, had met them once or twice, but when the rest of his family began to pass them over and over again, he knew he need to step in.
The only problem is that his work is only willing to wait for so long. He needs to go back. He works weird hours.
He needs a babysitter.
Prowl hated that running was the only option he had. He needed to get away, but with his certifications to become an enforcers around the corner, he thought he could hold on. When push comes to shove, he knows he needs to start over. He has no credentials, his Academy credits won't transfer, and his skillset is incredibly limited.
He needs a job.

Hello! I got this idea at 4 am while being unable to sleep on my sister's couch, texted AAA, got a message back, screamed at them for not being asleep, and got yelled at myself. AAA has wonderfully agreed to beta-read for me and be my sounding board, and they're great for it.Note from AAA here: When Dreamer explained this fic concept to me, the first words out of my mouth were, "Oh, like The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas," to which she replied, "What's that?" So while this might not be inspired by that work in the traditional sense, it plays with very similar concepts.
Praxus, for context, is renowned for being a city with next to no crime, very little littering, and -- before the war -- had the highest happiness rating on Cybertron by a large margin. It is extremely insular in terms of letting people in, but they also do a fair amount of trade, so they are not completely cut off.
