Alhaitham carefully took the collar out of the box as if it was the most delicate and precious thing he had held in his hands and handed it to Kaveh. Then he turned around in front of him, straightened his shoulders and exhaled deeply.
Kaveh carefully put the collar around the other's neck and fastened it. "Good? Or is it too tight?” he asked.
Alhaitham turned to him with a smile. “It's perfect, thank you.” He lifted his hand to the collar and gently ran with a finger over the fine leather.
Just this simple step of putting the collar on Alhaitham, which Kaveh had chosen especially for him, felt as if they had both agreed to a new, but this time invisible, contract.
