Summary
3 years ago, the apocalypse started. Mike seemed to be doing great, well…as great as someone in an apocalypse can be.
Mike and his friends go out after school to try and search for a supposed zombie that someone said had run away after they looked at it.
They certainly find what they’re looking for.

Now, Mike had almost three extra years' worth of memories, including the revelation and inevitable acceptance of his feelings for his best friend and the subsequent aftermath of said best friend’s heroic sacrifice.

Summary
The pain strikes all of a sudden, shooting up from his neck as if to accompany the fog in his mind. He tries to move and realises that Wilhelm is pressing him against the wet wall. His body heats up at the threat, wanting to pick up his arms to push the boy off, but instantly Mike realises that his limbs are frozen. He looks down to see the cigarette slowly sliding through his limp fingers until it drops to the ground. The heat in his body quickly becomes torture, spreading like a thousand needle pricks. Even when he opens his mouth to scream, Mike doesn’t hear any sound come out of his throat, the only noise in the alleyway being Wilhelm shifting against him, tilting his head so he can sink his fangs deeper into Mike’s neck.

[In the months after March 1986, the Party recovers even as they continue their search for Vecna. Mike Wheeler, as always, does not get a break.]
