Sparklers are lit, a cake with candles is brought out. The candles are in the shape of numbers, a two and an eight. The cake is being carried towards him, but it’s not his cake. It’s not his birthday. It glides right past him to the man sitting next to him—blonde with green eyes that sparkle like emeralds in the darkness, lit only by the candles and the sparklers.
”Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you...”

Summary
(Based on episode 3 of The Bad Batch season 2)
Cody went AWOL, and suddenly, the world as he knows it is flipped on its head. Alone, he faces what has become of a galaxy under Imperial rule--- a rule he has just defected from. One memory drags its feet after him as he fights on: what he did to his general. Somewhere, alone and exhausted, Obi-Wan Kenobi is alive, and Cody vows to find him. After all, good soldiers follow orders, and hadn't Obi-Wan told him to always report back after a mission was over?
Or, in other words, Cody teams up with Rex, Ahsoka, and the Bad Batch to find the general he'd tried to kill. Like that "The Empire has left me a sad and lonely man" textpost. Y'all know what I'm talking about.
