Summary
After an exhausting week, Crowley falls asleep at Aziraphale’s bookshop.
In the middle of the night, Aziraphale discovers that when Crowley is deeply tired, parts of his serpent form appear without him noticing.
The most surprising part is a small black tail curled possessively around Aziraphale’s waist beneath the blanket.
Aziraphale finds the entire thing unbearably adorable.
The next morning, Crowley wakes up, realizes what happened, and nearly dies of embarrassment while Aziraphale absolutely refuses to stop smiling about it.

That there would be last thing they’d ever remember, their very own safe haven through the years right before it flew into the flames. (...) All for nothing, he thought dejectedly, before he realized he was leaping towards it, reaching right into the open flame until Aziraphale’s weight knocked him off course, toppling him farther down into the fire than he hoped to— their hands reaching outward, knocking each other.
