It was the sharp taste of blood when his fangs dropped for the first time that finally cut through the fog in Levi’s brain. This was about the time he realized his face was buried in a stranger’s sweaty undershirt. He jerked back in disgust.
Thank fuck it wasn’t on the floor. The thought brought a rush of relief before he realized how stupid that was. If Levi was right, he had way bigger problems than huffing a bit of dirt.
He had a goddamn true mate.
There was no time to waste on denial, not when Levi had an hour at most before his heat set in. He needed to get back to his quarters without drawing attention, survive the next few days, and then figure out who his Alpha was so that he could make damn sure the two of them never, ever set foot within scenting range of each other.
