    "I came here to talk to you about Charlie. Seeing us fighting upsets her, and I don't want to hurt her if I can help it. So here's what I propose: for Charlie, we play nice. You can hate me, fight me, insult me in private all you want, but in front of Charlie? We're friends. If she ropes us into one of her redemption exercises, we do it, no complaints. If she asks if we're getting along, and some snide remark comes to mind, you hold your tongue. If anyone sees us arguing and it has even the smallest chance of it getting back to Charlie, we drop it.
