Riku had imagined a million different scenarios in which he finally told Sora he loved him. Whispered sweetly in the space between their lips, like a prayer meant only for them. Howled despairingly into Sora’s still chest. Ghosting out on his final breath as one last declaration before the end.
He never envisioned spitting the words out like venom, hoping to sting the very holder of his heart.
