He must be losing it. There was no other explanation. No way this was real. This isn’t something that just happens. Nobody breaks into somebody's house to clean it up then leaves. And then judge them for it. What does he even do with this? Could he give it to his landlord as proof?
…He could leave a note back. It’d be crazy. About as crazy as breaking into somebody's house several times just for the sake of cleaning it.
Hasegawa would like his apartment a little more if there wasn't constant break-ins. That part was a little unerving.
Kamimura would like his involuntary roommate more if he'd keep his space clean.

Summary
Living under someone else’s control was normal for Dima. He was accustomed to having his autonomy stripped away from him. As a child, he’d been passed around from orphanage to orphanage. Now that he was 20, he preferred to listen to his roommate’s advice about life and their experiences. They were wise beyond their physical years (but so was he).
It wasn’t that Dima was afraid to speak his mind, nor was he a pushover. He was capable and self-reliant. He didn’t need other people’s opinions to decide what was best for him. But sometimes, it just proved easier to submit to other’s whims instead of thinking for himself.
So, when he woke up in a young woman’s wardrobe, the simplest answer was right in front of him: Play along. She was clearly misinformed, adamant about “loving him” and telling him stories he couldn’t remember. But she swore up and down the walls that the only thing she wanted from him was to “take care of him”.
If suffocating affection and home-cooked meals were what he got in exchange for staying in a dark, shallow closet for a few weeks…
He could live with that.

One of my all-time favourite works. The prose and descriptions herein are gorgeous and compelling on multiple levels, the dynamic between Seraphina and Dima reads wonderfully and their views of eachother + how they process and respond to things are really well put together, very enjoyable to read.
