He stepped towards the mansion, closing his car door, already regretting the drunken bet that had ended with him there.
Chris stared up at the windows above the entryway, the cracked glass dark and imposing, set against the grey and cloudy sky outside. Raccoon City wasn’t known for its beautiful weather, but it settled in a place where it rained half the time. Today, however, it seemed especially dreary. He shook himself, trying his best to ward off the chill he could feel in his bones.
Damn it, Jill.
She and a couple of the others had gone drinking with him a few nights before. They’d gotten off work, gone to their favorite after-hours bar, and hung out until everyone was at minimum tipsy. Most of them had been flat-out drunk, shouting and laughing, joking around. Chris had been the unlucky victim of one of the worst dares that had been thrown across the table – Spend the night in the Spencer Mansion, at the edge of town.

"Hate to be whoever they are." Jason chuckles as he finally reaches a heavy gate, "Just walked past a flock of crows the size of my calf." He looked up at the spikes that lined the top of the gate, blood smeared across the wood with some nondescript flesh hanging from the iron. Under his mask, his nose scrunched with disgust.
"I'm never accepting a favour from you again."
"Noted."
