Summary
Goldenglow has finally achieved the dream she's had for what seems like her entire life. With her recently blossomed superpowers, she's finally able to join Pantheon, the largest, most respected league in the country and crown jewel in the bustling city of Prospect. At last, she has the chance to live up to the examples of her childhood heroes, Galahad and Valiant. Sadly, nothing is ever quite what you want it to be, and Prospect is no exception. The league itself is bloated with bureaucracy, and to make matters worse she's been assigned to what must be the most annoying supervillain in the whole damn world, Striker. Is following in the footsteps of her heroes worth it? Is it even possible, when everything they stood for might have been a lie?
Striker is bored bored bored capital B Bored. You'd think bank robbing and fighting for your freedom against superpowered opponents would never get old, but apparently after a decade and change even that gets dull. Goldenglow's arrival at first seems to be the cure, a real heavy-hitter who is not only a challenge, but won't back down even when she's severely outclassed. But as much as Striker likes this new girl, she's got a mission, and Goldenglow is in the way.
