Summary
At first, Himmel was just aggravated that she didn’t want him. He boasted a reputation of being very popular with the alphas. Whether or not they respected him, they always wanted him; he was stunningly beautiful after all. And Frieren was clearly an alpha; even the immense control she held over her scent couldn’t hide that.
But, she was completely uninterested.
Naturally, he took that as a challenge.

Summary
Ayanokoji felt a tremor of satisfaction in the rear of his brain. This was good—if he played it right, Ryuuen would be a great asset going forward, requiring little investment. This was no time for hesitation. The stairs passed in an instant. He stood close to the door when he knocked. When Ryuuen opened the door, he slipped inside like he owned the place, leaving his shoes and staring at him heavily.
Ryuuen spoke first. “I wouldn’t want to force you to do something you don’t want to do…”
“...Do you really think you could force me?” Ayanokoji slowly stepped towards him.
...
All in all, he thought the field mission was relatively successful.

Summary
“You know there’s no happy ending with us, right?” Izaya asked, nonchalant.
“What?” replied Shizuo in a soft tone, craning his neck to meet Izaya’s gaze with open vulnerability. He didn’t know which was worse, that he trusted Shizuo, or that Shizuo actually trusted him. “I thought we were gonna make it work.” The man was being so unguarded and honest, and yet Izaya just wanted to hurt him.
“Shizuo…” he stopped petting his hair, instead grazing the blonde's face with his fingertips. “It’s me. I’m the poison. It’s-” he paused, his impassivity almost breaking, “no, I’m the scorpion.”
“And I’m the frog?”
“Yes,” he breathed in response. Just because they wanted it to work, didn’t mean it would. Even if Shizuo adamantly disagreed with him.
