“So who is Zuko, really?” Toph asks. “I thought he was just a regular Firebender who didn't like you very much. I didn't know his sister was favored by the Fire Lord.”
“His sister is definitely favored by the Fire Lord,” Sokka says irritably. “She was his guard during the Eclipse. And she's incredibly loyal, just like Zuko is. That is, was.”
“No wonder, with that name,” Katara mutters. “What else would you expect from siblings named after the Fire Prince and Princess?”
In which everything stays the same, apart from the fact that the Gaang doesn’t realize their local firebender is actually Prince Zuko until coronation day.

Summary
The bath takes care of the sweat. Takes care of the burnt bits of skin and fat that still cling to his palm. Zuko scrubs his body until it’s raw, blushing red; he dunks his head under the hot water and stays there, staring up at the dark, vaulted ceiling of the washroom until his lungs run out of breath to use.
The oil of honeysuckle and opium and cinnamon, sweet and sharp and earthy, does not wash the stench of scorched flesh out of his nose.Zuko falls asleep on the evening of his official coronation, when he’s twenty-one-years old and has finally reached his majority. Zuko wakes on the morning of the Agni Kai with his father, eight years earlier.
This is annoying for several reasons, like the fact that the War is still ongoing, that he has zero friends, and that Ozai is not in jail.

Summary
Sokka's eight years old when he learns the dark and sobering truth that changes his life forever: he's a firebender. Unable to accept the truth himself, let alone share the truth with others, he lives in denial and repression for years until the Avatar comes along. As they travel across the globe, Sokka wrestles with his identity and his views on those who practice firebending. Are they all evil? If they are, does that mean he is, too?
Told as a series of one-shots at different points throughout the series in chronological order through Sokka's POV.
