Oddly distant. Tangible, but more felt vaguely in the core rather than any specific part of his body.
It was a shed, he realized- a bit of slime cut off from the rest of him, large enough to form up into a slimeball rather than vanish when he respawned. He hadn't noticed it before, in the chaos, but he must have dropped it when he was exiled.
