The “Happy Ending” tag is a lie as there is no ending at all.
If it had been tagged as “complete” with an “ambiguous/open ending” I would likely be much less upset because I would’ve skipped the fic or at least known the ending wasn’t going to actually tie up the story.
This fic stops in the middle of the climax of the final battle just as Violet and Xaden choose to turn venin to save their friends. Then it time skips 6 months to a scene where Lilith sees Violet and Xaden being blissfully happy at a distance. And that’s it.
The writing is very good which is probably why I feel so frustrated and betrayed by this fic.
Oh, and Rhiannon dies. Basically gets fridged.
