It had been a short chapter -really only a few pages long- and Obi-Wan had always assumed that it was rare since that’s what the text had hinted out when they’d been explaining things.
Some of Stewjon’s citizens have evolved vocal cords that allow them to make noises that would otherwise be impossible for those of a different species. Things like a chirp, purr, or even a trill can be a sign of many things. Although rare, these involuntary signs can have many meanings…
Still, Obi-Wan hadn't been expecting his own men to be the ones to draw the noise out of him.
Or snapshots into Obi-Wan and the 212th Attack Batallion's day-to-day life, culminating in them finding each other through a series of slightly mortifying, definitely embarrassing, noises that escape Obi-Wan's mouth when he's excited or turned on.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is hiding injuries and refuses to do as Helix asks (read: demands) and go to the medical wing for treatment. Cody doesn't have time to drag him there himself, so he enlists his most powerful ally in the fight against Obi-Wan's determination to neglect himself -- a shiny Wooley and the dreaded tooka-eyes.
Suddenly a light blinked on in the back of his brain, a sleepily dim one but a light nonetheless. He reached for his comm and cut Helix off, trying not to imagine where the rest of that string of swearing would have ended up.
“What injuries do we have?” he asked quickly.
“I just told you, Commander,” the medic drawled. “Our kriffing General is –”
“Other than the General, Helix,” Cody sighed. He massaged his temple and wondered how much caf he still had in his cramped quarters. He had a feeling it wasn’t enough.
“Waxer is in for shrapnel wounds, and I’ve got a few others in with the same thing. Boil ended up with a blaster burn right between his shoulder plates.”
No, Waxer and Boil wouldn't work.
“Got any shinies?”
