Midoriya Izuku will die here, in some way. If not a true death, then one in spirit at least. He thought he knew what it was to shatter; drowning, flight, a rooftop, a question, an answer, a ledge that looked much too inviting.
He will not come back from this one, there is not enough glue and gold left to hold his pieces together.

Summary
Despite his obvious lack of socialization, Shouto had always been an observant person. He had to be, really, to survive in his father’s house. He had to learn to detect what mood the man was in each day to know how to behave; to be quieter or meeker, to fight back or to take up no space, which is why he did not understand how everyone else could be so blind to the truth of Midoriya Izuku.
If no one else is going to help, then Shouto Todoroki will do right by his first friend himself, goddammit.
