It’s the nights that are the worst.
At night, with the creeping silence of the dead hour the only thing keeping him company at three in the morning, Hongjoong can do nothing but feel it. The sensation crawls under his skin like a million tiny ants. The noise in his ears is unbearable.
Hongjoong is a popular artist and successful producer suffering from insomnia. Seonghwa hosts a late night radio show. They've been orbiting each other for a long time.

Summary
Hongjoong’s hand slips under his jacket, Seonghwa watching the clerk’s eyes be drawn to the movement. Through one layer, Seonghwa blinks in time with Hongjoong’s fingertips, tracing something unknowable over his skin.
Seonghwa waits for Hongjoong to correct him. Waits for him to wave his hand, laugh, and say he’s my friend, we sing together, and for the clerk to get flustered over his mistake.
“My wife likes red wine,” He says, instead. “So, you can pick.”
“Naturalmente.” The clerk smiles at Seonghwa, and gives Hongjoong the room key.

Summary
Every seafarer knows that mermaids are a commodity in black markets. Their flesh holds power beyond what humans can comprehend. If consumed, a mermaid will give its attributes to whoever has eaten them. Their tears are said to heal and eating enough blood and meat is said to grant immortality, but Hongjoong wouldn’t know about that. He’s far more interested in consuming the tongue and language center of the brain so as to communicate with the beasts at the bottom of the sea. With the power of mermaid speech, Hongjoong plans to leech their secrets from them to better fish them up. But it’s only a great sense of unease Hongjoong gains when he catches a mermaid with stars in his eyes and discovers the creatures are far more human than what he has been told.
In which Seonghwa is an otherworldly beauty from the depths and Hongjoong cannot fathom how easy it is to love him.
