Summary/spoilers
HG and DM have an impromptu quickie, and RW, the recent secret ex, of course notices this immediately. Rumors on HG's promiscuity fly throughout Hogwarts, she's sexually assaulted over her presumed availability and nearly expelled but instead just kicked out of Gryffindor, and there is much angst on whether DM or RW blabbed.
(It was RW of course, but he didn't really mean to wreck HG's life. He only told one person, okay except HP one other person, the gossip, under one painting, also a gossip, and only because he wasn't thinking because he was upset.)
(Super low opinion of MM here, and the bit about HG being thrown out of Gryffindor for defending herself from assault didn't seem like a very grounded action within this worldbuilding, more like an author's pet to force HG to re-sort to Slytherin. (Remember how JKR didn't even hand out detentions following HP nearly killing DM? Or FW+GW imprisoning Montague, causing him to be so injured he was pulled from school for a time, didn't even get a stern talking-to?) It would have been so easy to bypass all of this by just having incoming adult students re-sort from the jump, but then there wouldn't be all this juicy drama.)
Eventually, HG gets amnesia which reverts her to thinking she's still in love with Ron.
Meanwhile, the Ministry is experimenting on Death Eaters and DM is slowly becoming a squib due to runes carved into him.
Snape lives and even survives to the epilogue, where DM and HG have a daughter, Celeste.
Reading notes/spoilers
DNF in Chapter 3, HG dramatically quitting these vague higher education courses, but skimmed a bit to see how things resolved. The AU setting has the main cast aged-up to their mid-twenties and everyone's still at Hogwarts due to pursuing this higher education (with the same secondary teachers, who all have the credentials and time and space to handle university-level teaching, on top of their actual jobs?), but the school drama felt very on-brand for early high school. I feel like the author framed much of the early angst as a way to develop strong statements about slut shaming, but I was left just really unimpressed with everyone's behaviors and reactions here.
The tags in this one include Ron bashing, and he did say very crude and cruel things to HG, but he was mostly just a selfish idiot and the plot generally gives him a pass. He gave HG a general apology (off-page) during the amnesiac phase which made her immediately forgive him for everything.
If you like the smut scenes in Chapter 1, you'll probably click well with this work.
