“What’s so interesting about an old desk? I’d think there’s better ways to find firewood,” the girl observed with a thoughtful look on her face, before moving closer to the desk, where Midoriya had previously been standing before his fall, “and this one seems like it was vandalised a whole bunch as well?”
“It- the desk used to be mine… from school,” Midoriya admitted quietly, “I uh, I didn’t expect to see it out here, and thought I’d get a closer look…”
“Whoa! What a coincidence then!” The girl said in awe, “does that mean your name is Deku?”
A pant of hurt made itself known, but left in the face of the girl’s enthusiasm, “no! I mean… it’s a nickname my friend gave me, it means dekunobou.”
The girl gasped, turning to look into his eyes, “well that doesn’t sound like they’re a very good friend! You know, I actually thought deku sounded like Dekiru, it sounds kinda cool that way!”

“This only happens when I’m stressed, so of course it’s not real, it can’t be but…” Uraraka hesitated once again, “this stress hallucination called me a nickname and well, it felt really nice to hear, cute even.”
At this point she was blushing up a storm, and all of the 1A girls were leaning in closer than before, eager for the juicy details. Uraraka’s face was beet red as she struggled to continue, but with the insistence of her friends eager gazes, she gave in.
“… He calls me Mochi,” the girls squealed, and no doubt that Mina and Toru’s were the loudest, though Yaomomo’s squeal certainly gave them a run for their money.
“That is, so adorable you can’t even imagine,” Toru said, “oh god I’m blushing, that's so cute, hey hey Jirou is my face red?”
“I can’t see your face, you’re invisible,” Jirou snorted.

Those messy, wet curls, with big, curious emerald eyes, with scales like freckles across his face, and large, fin-like ears. Peeking out of the surface water.

Summary
Centring himself, Midoriya took a deep breath and ventured down through the underwater cave, careful not to touch any of the colourful crystals that lined the walls, and soon found himself emerging through a near identical pool it was connected to. He grasped the edge and pulled himself out, before a gasp escaped him at what he saw.
A large, cavernous room, covered in moss and plant life encroaching on almost every inch. Natural sunlight edged its way through a canopy above, covered in sparse roots and the gentle, tricking water. Roots held chunks of stone in place, dangling from the roof of the cavern, and some even reached the ground of the room, nearing the littered pools of water.
In the centre though, was what really caught Midoriya’s eye.
