Summary
16 year-old Mikasa Ackerman, a girl from District 12 volunteers for the 74th Hunger Games. Eren Yeager, a boy from District 12, who once saved Mikasa from starvation when they were children also volunteers. District 12 hasn't seen a volunteer in decades much less two in the same year.
They are mentored by their district's only living victor, Levi Ackerman, who won 24 years earlier and has since led a solitary life, many noting his struggles with depression.
