Wriothesley trembles beneath Neuvillette’s doings and tangles fingers in hair again, pulling enough to burn at the roots.
It’s then that Neuvillette realizes the floor length mirror is behind them, placed against the far wall by the closet. He spares a glance behind him, and catches sight of his reflection.
They hadn’t bothered to turn on the lights, the dim lamps from the living room leaking in, a small spool of light against the carpets, and now Neuvillette’s scales shimmer, caught in moonlight, while his rhinophores shimmer with a blue hue that echoes in his amethyst gaze.
- Whisked away to their cabin in the Erinnyes forest for the Yule season, they indulge in each other before the mirror in their rooms. An evening of worship and tender loving care is in order.

Spock blames his exceptional hearing for getting him into this mess, until his touch telepathy accidentally helps him find his way out.
“Mr. Scott seemed to be under the impression that…” he can’t bring himself to say it, and looks at Nyota in a mute appeal. She had long ago learned to communicate with Spock better than almost anyone else, and she nods at him now, seeing what he can’t put into words.
“Spock—do you have feelings for the Captain and Dr. McCoy?”
A full Vulcan, Spock thinks, would point out the imprecise nature of that question. A full Vulcan would object to the word “feelings.” A full Vulcan would be able to give a simple answer to the question that Spock knows Nyota is actually asking.
“I—” Spock tries to answer, but his words fail him.
