Summary
Life and Death were meaningless to Layla, the afterlife followed her around as long as she could remember. She had gotten tired of the voices of the dead always asking so much from her, so dampening her quirk was her only relief when they got too loud. Her life was slowly spiraling out of control so going to Japan's number one hero school was the last thing she expected. But she was a romantic and she'd do anything for her promised future, even becoming a hero and embracing her quirk.
OC is loosely based on Klaus Hargreeve from Umbrella Academy if gender swapped, young, and in MHA universe.

He wants to close his eyes, blind himself, and remain ignorant of what is about to happen, hoping it will be as painless as possible, but he can't, he can't take his eyes off it. The adrenaline running through his veins keeps him from turning away from the threat. And like an overflowing dam, breaking from holding more than it can bear, his senses strike fiercely, kicking and tearing at his insides without relief.
And they whisper to him, they push him, they scream at him to throw, to scratch, to do whatever it takes to survive, to not die.
"I'M BEGGING YOU, PLEADING! ISN'T THAT WHAT YOU WANT?!" At some point, disconnected from time, his eyes welled up, the salty water pouring from his sockets against his will. "I BEG YOU, I BEG YOU FOR COMPASSION."
