Crisp mountain air rushed past Alec as he dashed out of the house, large hands just barely missing him as he escaped. Four steps down the front porch, and he disappeared around the side of the house. Heavy breathing sounded like it was just moments behind him, and he fought to control his own breathing. Too fast and he would collapse, coughing uncontrollably. Then the game would be over before it really begun.
