Summary
Steve and Bucky were best friends, who dreamt of leaving their small town- especially Bucky, whose dad was the leader of a dangerous Biker Gang. They'd spend their nights in a field, talking all night and dreaming of running off together; Steve would be a painter and Bucky would open a garage. Bucky made a promise to never be like his father, he'd be a good person, as long as Steve was around to not let him slip. Except Steve leaves for Art School, where he gets a decent internship at Stark Industries. They lose contact over the years, but Steve believes Bucky got out.
Sarah Rogers becomes very ill, so Steve visits his old town. He needs an excuse to have time off work, he's hit a slump recently and hasn't been looking after himself- especially since he discovered his boyfriend cheating.
Steve learns who the new leader is and is dumbfounded to realise Bucky never left, he stepped up.
