Summary
Osora was stupid for letting things go on with Arias for as long as they did. He was stupid for ending things the way he did too. For every time they were together in those few, sparing weeks—sneaking around guards, curfews, and nearly getting themselves killed out in the woods just for some privacy, Osora was stupid for endangering them both on whims of forbidden fancy. He was stupid for putting the future of Calaveras at risk, and he was stupid for indulging Arias’ feelings even though he knew he could never fulfill them the way Arias deserved.
But by far, the stupidest thing Osora had done lately was sneaking outside of the castle against his father’s wishes and going back to Avona Lake. This time, on his own.
He wasn’t sure if he’d be coming back this time.
