Lord Voldemort rose from the cauldron, reborn once more. He looked towards his so called conquer then stooped shocked, this? This was the boy-who-lived? This tiny skinny little child? Where was the pampered Prince? The Gryffindor golden boy? This was not what he expected at all.
When Voldemort is reborn at the end of Harry’s fourth year, he is surprised at the sight of the tiny malnourished child glaring defiantly up at him. Instead of attacking he sets out to understand who exactly this child is and why he feels such a pull towards him. Harry on the other hand is completely overwhelmed as the foretold evilest of all evil ends up giving him better care and treatment then he every received from the Light.
