“Are you going to kill me?”
The question hung in the air between you like fog over a meadow on a murky spring morning. Both of you let time pass in untaken breaths until you decided to not pursue your suspicion any further and continued with a diversion.
“You're too hot to show up randomly while I'm on a walk here. Either I'm dreaming or you're here to kill me.”
A calm whisper against his skin that pulled the corners of his mouth up to his ears. He casually grabbed your chin with his free hand and searched your face for the truth behind your words.
“You're not dreaming, but maybe you're just what I've been looking for tonight.”
A game as old as time had already started and the dice was rolling. Even if either one of you had wanted to turn away, by now it was already too late.
