Summary
This story is a human AU and therefore has nothing to do with S2! You can read without any worries about spoilers!
Aziraphale lives a quiet life in his comfortable bookshop, kept company by his best friend Anathema after recently leaving a relationship that was no good for him. Every day is a quiet, if a bit boring, but Aziraphale honestly prefers it that way.
However, that simplicity will leave him when he comes home to find that a stranger had somehow gotten into his bookshop, though they don't seem to have any bad intentions.
This is kind of inspired by a story that I've had in my mind for some OCs for about 5 years, but I'm going to be completely honest, when it comes to my no own characters, I'm not super good at world or character building! So I'm going to steal these two characters again and put Crowley through it, like quite literally every other one of my fics :)

!! Season 2 Spoilers !!
Aziraphale can't bring himself to return to Earth after he and Crowley's last interaction on Earth. Another four years go by without hearing from his best friend while Aziraphale stays in Heaven, and Muriel remains in the bookshop. The two angels meet up often on a scheduled weekly basis, but Muriel calls on Aziraphale off schedule one day. Something is wrong.
Falling into the trap of Hozier lyric titles because I thought of this song as soon as I finished watching S2.

Repo!Crowley and Repo!Gabriel find themselves in the DiP universe, their roles suddenly, distressingly changed. Crowley tries to ignore the darkness festering in his angel, because he's finally home, he's finally free from Gabriel's clutches.
But maybe, between the cracks, this isn't as good as it seems.
