Summary
John works in an outdated Observatory in the Swiss Alps, collecting extraterrestrial signals and relaying them back to his employers at ASO. For six months, he's lived hundreds of miles away from the nearest human, with his only contact with the outside world coming in the form of emails and drone deliveries. For six months, he's dealt with the paranormal, the unnatural, the demonic, and the extraterrestrial. Even worse, he's done it all alone.
Or, that's what his boss and colleagues think. He's not quite as alone as he lets them believe.
A one-shot short story set in the world of a non-canonical Voices of the Void setting.

Summary
Dr. Kel thought he would like working alone, not having to answer to anyone or have anyone looking over his shoulder. After a week of total isolation in the Dunkeltaler Array, crushing loneliness and paranoia starts to take hold.
Which is only amplified further when he learns that he's not alone.
He's not sure if it's due to his rapidly declining mental state or his desperate need for social interaction, but when faced with something inhuman and dangerous, rather than run away, he tries to reach out to it.

This series has it's own altered version of the ariral and VotV lore, so if things don't quite add up with what the lore says you can point to this as to why. Here is a link to the in-progress "Signals From Deep Space" Ariral Lore Document.
"Signals From Deep Space" has zero affiliation with Mr. Dr. Nose, or any official avenues of Voices of the Void content.
