Tired of his lonely kitchen in Yavanna's Garden, Bilbo Baggins wonders if the dwarven love of being underground is true in death. If so, maybe his dwarves are living (ha ha) under the very land Bilbo is weeding.
With that thought, Bilbo goes and asks Hamfast for a shovel.

The power King’s dad had given her was temporary, just something to use to stop Belos and save the Boiling Isles. It was cool and made her into the super powerful witch she’d always wanted to be but she’d lose that. And if she was honest, she didn’t need to be that powerful witch anymore, Luz the human witch was enough.
So if it was temporary, why wasn’t she turning back?

Summary
The most terrible thing you can do to a writer, Bilbo is sure, is answer words with silence.
Sweet-bittersweet, comedy-angst, movie/book fusion. Set in a reclaimed Erebor full of dwarrowdames, constitutional monarchy, assassination attempts and new Durins -- all brought to you via a completely neutral and factual firsthand account utterly expurgated of bias. Also expurgated of questionable narratorial rambling, curiously tender descriptions, marginalia complaints, annoying sayings, and irrelevant hobbitish asides. Candidly, Master Baggins is just trying to finish this book and go home.
Note: Functionally complete! I may add an epilogue at some point and/or expand a certain subplot in a spin-off, and so have left the fic marked unfinished.
