Before Tori could stop herself, she was moving.
“Jade, I—”
Jade turned quickly, her expression like stone. It was all bitter. Hatred. The way Jade looked at her when they first met; when Tori was just another girl trying to steal her boyfriend. Now, eleven years layer… well, she had. And they were getting married.
“No,” Was all Jade said, dismissing Tori immediately. “Don’t. Not now, not ever. ”
And then she was gone.
The words echoed in Tori’s head, and it was like she was eighteen again, missing something that’d never even belonged to her. She missed Jade so, so much. Touching her. Kissing her.
Tori didn’t run after her, no matter how much she wanted to explain, to fix things.
